مئات السكان يفقدون منازلهم جراء الحرائق في جايابورا

جايابورا، إندونيسيا اليوم – تم إجلاء المئات من سكان جايابورا ببابوا إلى مآوي مؤقتة توفرها إدارة المدينة بعد اشتعال النيران في منازلهم في الساعة الثالثة والدقيقة الثالثة عشرة بالتوقيت المحلى يوم الثلاثاء.

وذكرت وكالة جاكرتا بوست أنه اندلع الحريق في منطقة مكتظة بالسكان تقع بالقرب من ثكنة القيادة الإقليمية العسكرية (كودام) زفي / سيندراواسيه، على بعد حوالي 50 مترا من ميناء جايابورا.

كان من الصعب على سيارات الإطفاء الوصول إلى مكان الحادث حيث لا توجد سوى نقطة وصول واحدة إلى المجمع السكني.

عندما وقع الحادث، لم يكن معظم السكان في منازلهم بل كانوا يعملون في ميناء جايابورا.

وقال نورجايا إن الحريق يعتقد أنه بدأ في بيت رجل يدعى فيصل، 40 عاما، وقال إن فيصل يعاني من مشاكل عقلية وشتبه في أنه أشعل النار في غرفته. “حاول أن يحرق المنزل مرتين ولكن محاولاته أحبطت. وحاول مرة واحدة الانتحار أيضا .”

وعانى فيصل من إصابات في ذراعيه، ويعالج في مستشفى جايابورا دوك الثاني الإقليمي.

وقد لحقت أضرار بحوالي 200 منزلا ، مما أدى إلى خسائر بلغت قيمتها نحو 5 مليارات روبية .

وفي الوقت نفسه، قال المتحدث باسم شرطة مدينة جايابورا رومرا أن الشرطة مازالت تحقق في سبب الحريق.

وقال “إن وحدة التحقيقات الجنائية التابعة لشرطة جايابورا مازالت تحقق فيها”.

Jayapura, Indonesiaalyoum.com – Hundreds of residents of Jayapura, Papua, were evacuated to temporary shelters provided by the city administration after their houses caught fire at 3.15 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

The fire broke out in a densely populated area, which is located beside a barracks of the Military Regional Command (Kodam) XVII/ Cendrawasih, around 50 meters from Jayapura Port.

It was difficult for fire trucks to get to the scene as there is only one access point to the residential complex.

“When the incident occurred, most of the adult men were not at home but working at Jayapura Port.

Nurjaya said the fire is thought to have started in the room of a man identified as Faisal, 40. He said that Faisal suffered from mental health issues and it was suspected he lit a fire in his room. “He had tried to burn the house twice before but his attempts were thwarted. He once tried to commit suicide as well,” he added.

Faisal suffered burn injuries to his arms and is being treated at Jayapura Dok II Regional Public Hospital.

As many as 200 houses, were damaged in the fire, which is estimated to have caused losses worth about Rp 5 billion (US$ 369,604).

Meanwhile, Jayapura City Police spokesperson First Insp. Jahya Rumra said the police were still investigating the cause of the fire.

“The Jayapura Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit [Satreskrim] is still investigating it,” he said. The police will question Faisal once he recovers, Jahya said. (dra/ebf)
