سلطات بالي ترفع التأهب ضد «نيباه» مع اتساع مناطق إنتاج الخنازير في الجزيرة

دينباسار، إندونيسيا اليوم — تستبق دائرة الصحة في مقاطعة بالي أي احتمال لانتشار فيروس نيباه عبر الخنازير، في ظل وجود مناطق إنتاج واسعة للخنازير في أنحاء الجزيرة.

وقالت رئيسة قسم الوقاية من الأمراض ومكافحتها في دائرة صحة بالي، إي غوستي أيو راكا سوسانتي، يوم الخميس، إن الدائرة تواصل رفع مستوى اليقظة وتنسق مع دائرة الزراعة لضمان تشديد التأهب ضد فيروس نيباه في الثروة الحيوانية.

وأوضحت سوسانتي أن فيروس نيباه يُعد من الأمراض حيوانية المنشأ التي تنتقل عبر الحيوانات.

وأضافت أن الفيروس تحمله الخفافيش في المقام الأول، ويمكن أن ينتقل إلى الخنازير، كما حدث خلال تفشٍ شهده بلد مجاور عام ١٩٩٨، وانتهى آنذاك إلى إعدام أعداد كبيرة من الخنازير بسبب خطر انتقال العدوى إلى البشر.

ورغم عدم تسجيل حالات انتقال لفيروس نيباه عبر الخنازير في إندونيسيا حتى الآن، فإن دائرة صحة بالي تبقي درجة الحذر مرتفعة، نظراً إلى أن جزيرة بالي تُعد أكبر منطقة لإنتاج لحم الخنزير في البلاد.

وقالت سوسانتي إن فيروس نيباه قد يوجد في لعاب الخفافيش، وعندما تتناول الخفافيش الفاكهة قد يلوث لعابها الثمار، ثم يمكن أن يُصاب البشر أو الحيوانات، مثل الخنازير، بالعدوى، مشيرة إلى أن هذا المسار هو ما يتعين التحسب له.

وبالتوازي مع جهود منع انتقال العدوى من الحيوانات الحاملة، تشدد الدائرة أيضاً الرقابة على احتمال دخول الفيروس عبر حركة الأشخاص، من خلال متابعة ينفذها مركز الحجر الصحي في المطارات والموانئ.

وتشمل الدول الخاضعة لرقابة مشددة ماليزيا وسنغافورة والهند وبنغلاديش وتايلاند، بعد أن أعلنت وقوع حالة طوارئ صحية استثنائية مرتبطة بفيروس نيباه.

وحتى الآن، لم تُرصد أي حالات لفيروس نيباه في بالي، غير أن حكومة المقاطعة تواصل تنفيذ ترصد صحي لمتابعة أي احتمال لانتقال العدوى.

وأفادت سوسانتي بأن جميع المرافق الصحية تُعد في وضع استعداد، بما في ذلك توفر غرف العزل والكوادر الطبية والأدوية.

وأضافت: في بالي يوجد ١٢٠ مركزاً صحياً مجتمعياً، كما تمتلك كل مقاطعة مستشفى عاماً إقليمياً، وتضم المستشفيات الخاصة أيضاً غرف عزل وكوادر مدربة، مؤكدة الثقة في الجاهزية استناداً إلى الدروس المستفادة من تجربة كوفيد-١٩.

وأشارت إلى أن فيروس نيباه يتقاطع في بعض السمات مع كوفيد-١٩، ومنها أعراض شبيهة بالإنفلونزا وارتفاع الحرارة، لكنه قد يسبب مضاعفات أشد، مثل الالتهاب الرئوي والتهاب الدماغ، مع معدل وفيات يتراوح بين ٤٥٪ و٧٥٪.

ودعت حكومة مقاطعة بالي السكان إلى المساهمة في الحد من انتشار الفيروس عبر الالتزام بعادات حياة نظيفة وصحية، ولا سيما غسل اليدين بانتظام وتجنب تناول الفاكهة التي يُعتقد أنها غير آمنة.

DENPASAR, INDONESIAALYOUM.COM – The Bali Provincial Health Office is anticipating the potential spread of the Nipah virus through pigs, which have large production areas across the island.

“We are maintaining vigilance and coordinating with the agricultural office to ensure heightened alertness against the Nipah virus in livestock,” said Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Bali Health Office, I Gusti Ayu Raka Susanti, on Thursday.

She explained that the Nipah virus is a zoonotic disease transmitted through animals.

The virus is primarily carried by bats and can be transmitted to pigs, as seen during the 1998 outbreak in Malaysia, which ultimately led to the mass culling of pigs due to the risk of transmission to humans.

Although there have been no recorded cases of Nipah virus transmission through pigs in Indonesia, the Bali Health Office remains cautious, given that Bali island is the country’s largest pork-producing region.

“The Nipah virus is present in the saliva of bats. When bats eat fruit, their saliva can contaminate it, and then humans or animals such as pigs can become infected. This is what we need to be wary of,” Susanti said.

In addition to preventing transmission from animal carriers, the office is also tightening controls on potential virus entry through human movement, with monitoring conducted by the Health Quarantine Center at airports and seaports.

Countries under heightened surveillance include Malaysia, Singapore, India, Bangladesh, and Thailand, which have declared extraordinary event status related to the Nipah virus.

To date, no Nipah virus cases have been detected in Bali. Nevertheless, the Bali Provincial Government continues to carry out health surveillance to monitor potential transmission.

Susanti said all health facilities are considered prepared, including the availability of isolation rooms, medical personnel, and medicines.

“In Bali, there are 120 community health centers (Puskesmas). Each district already has a regional general hospital (RSUD), and private hospitals are also equipped with isolation rooms and trained staff. We are confident in our readiness because we have learned from the COVID-19 experience,” she said.

The Nipah virus shares several similarities with COVID-19, including flu-like symptoms and fever. However, it can cause more severe complications, such as pneumonia and encephalitis, with a case fatality rate ranging from 45 to 75 percent.

The Bali Provincial Government has urged the public to help prevent the spread of the virus by practicing clean and healthy living habits, particularly regular handwashing and avoiding the consumption of fruit that is considered unsafe.
