الرئيس برابوو يتعهد بإخماد حرائق الغابات في إندونيسيا خلال أسبوعين

جاكرتا، إندونيسيا اليوم – أعرب الرئيس الإندونيسي برابوو سوبيانتو عن تطلعه إلى أن تنجح بلاده في السيطرة التامة على حرائق الغابات والأراضي التي تطال أقاليم عدة في غضون أسبوعين، في وقت تواصل فيه المؤسسات الاتحادية والإقليمية تعزيز جهود الرصد والوقاية ومكافحة بؤر النيران.

وقال برابوو، في كلمته خلال حفل إطلاق برنامج الطاقة الشمسية بقدرة ١٠٠ غيغاواط: «أعتقد أن الوضع ينحسر نحو السيطرة الكاملة؛ والمعالجة ممتدة على قدم وساق. وكلي أمل في أن تُخمد النيران المشتعلة في مناطق عدة بالكامل خلال أسبوع إلى أسبوعين».

وأوضح الرئيس، في كلمة ألقاها عبر البث المباشر من محافظة جيمبرانا في جزيرة بالي، يوم الثلاثاء، أن العالم يمر بتداعيات مناخية قاسية جراء ظاهرة «النينيو»، لافتاً إلى أن هذه الظاهرة العالمية تسببت في جعل موسم الجفاف أشد وطأة في إندونيسيا هذا العام.

وفي معرض تطرقه إلى جولاته التفقدية الميدانية الأخيرة لمتابعة خطط الاستجابة لحرائق الغابات في إقليَمي كاليمانتان وسومطرا، ثمن الرئيس التنسيق الفعال والجهود المشتركة التي تبذلها الوزارات والأجهزة الحكومية والإدارات المحلية، بالتكامل مع قوات الشرطة والجيش.

وأكد برابوو في هذا الصدد: «كافة المؤسسات تؤدي دورها بفاعلية ميدانية عالية».

وبيّن أن السلطات عبأت الإمكانات والكوادر البشرية اللازمة للوقاية من حرائق الغابات وإخمادها في أقاليم متفرقة، حيث شمل ذلك تسخير عشرات المروحيات والطائرات المخصصة لعمليات الإطفاء الجوي، إلى جانب تسريع حفر الآبار الارتوازية لتأمين الإمدادات المائية للفرق الميدانية.

وشدد الرئيس على نشر آلاف العناصر من القوات المشتركة في مناطق واسعة من البلاد للحد من نشوب الحرائق والسيطرة على بؤرها المشتعلة.

وأضاف: «إنني فخور بالتقدم الذي يحققه أبناؤنا على الأرض. نحن أمتلك القوة والقدرة على تجاوز التحديات والعقبات».

وفي هذا السياق، نوّه الرئيس بسرعة استجابة الأجهزة الحكومية للكوارث الطبيعية التي شهدها إقليم سومطرا في نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني الماضي، إلى جانب سير عمليات الإغاثة المتواصلة في إقليم نوسا تينغارا الشرقية في أعقاب الزلزال المدمر الذي بلغت قوته ٧.٧ درجات وضرب جزيرة فلوريس في ١٥ أغسطس/آب.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA ALYOUM – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed hope that Indonesia could bring forest and land fires in several regions under control within two weeks as central and regional institutions continue strengthening hotspot prevention and firefighting efforts.

“I believe the situation is beginning to come under control; the problem is being mitigated. I hope that all the fires raging in several places will have been completely extinguished within one to two weeks,” he remarked during the launch of the 100 GW solar power program.

In a livestreamed speech from Jembrana District, Bali, on Tuesday, Prabowo pointed out that the world is currently experiencing the impacts of El Nino, noting that the global climate phenomenon has brought a more severe dry season to Indonesia this year.

Highlighting his recent firsthand inspections of wildfire response efforts in Kalimantan and Sumatra, the president expressed appreciation for the concerted efforts of multiple ministries, agencies, regional governments, the police, and the military.

“All institutions are working effectively,” Prabowo added.

He elaborated that authorities had mobilized adequate equipment and personnel to prevent and combat wildfires in various regions, including dozens of helicopters and aircraft for water-bombing operations as well as the construction of boreholes to secure water supplies.

He emphasized that thousands of joint personnel had been deployed to prevent and suppress wildfires across many parts of the country.

“I am proud of the progress made by our personnel on the ground,” he said. “We are strong and capable of overcoming obstacles and challenges.”

In that context, the president also recalled the government’s swift response to disasters in Sumatra last November and the ongoing relief operations in East Nusa Tenggara following the deadly magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck Flores on Aug. 15.
